Update Jan 2017. This is a game for learning English; it is not really trying to be entertaining in a general, non-educational way. I know that it is not as much fun as playing xBox or other games, but it was not really meant to be. The words that you have to guess are quite easy as it is relatively difficult for non-native English speakers to guess and spell the words.
Having said that, please do let me know if there are any problems or if there is anything I can do to improve this game, especially if the game does not load or if there are other technical problems. I know that it takes a little bit longer to load that the other pages; this is because it has to load the audio file. I would be possible to remove the music to make it load more quickly, but I really think that it adds a lot to the game.
This is version of the classic letter guessing game hangman. You are shown a set of blank letters and have to guess what the word is. You guess by picking letters and seeing if they are in the word. However if you pick a letter that is not in the word a man is slowly drawn. With each wrong letter guess the man is drawn more and more. When the man is finished he is hung and the game is lost. The vowels appear on the left and the consonants on the right. As with other games you can choose the content you want to practice spelling first and then you are show one of ten possible words. There is a countdown timer than runs down slowly at first but then more and more quickly.
There is also an option to review the vocabulary items. At the first screen, if you click on the 'Review' button, then you can select any set of content and scroll through to see each image and see how it is spelt. It is quite hard to learn how to spell a word just from guessing letters and so I think that it would be a good idea to review the items from a set before trying the game.
I hope you have fun playing this game and that you can learn or improve your English at the same time. Leave a comment if you want to

When you eat something loaded with sugar, your taste buds, your gut and your brain all take notice. This activation of your reward system is not unlike how bodies process addictive substances such as alcohol or nicotine -- an overload of sugar spikes dopamine levels and leaves you craving more. Nicole Avena explains why sweets and treats should be enjoyed in moderation.

The purpose of an abstract is to convince a fellow scientist to actually read your paper or come to your talk. In today’s competitive, information-overloaded scientific environment, being able to write effective abstracts is increasingly critical to your success. In this webinar, our speaker, Celia Elliott, presents a fool-proof, four-step “recipe” for turning out great abstracts with a minimum of fuss.
