Seminar on a selected topic from Renaissance architecture. Requires original research and presentation of a report. The aim of this course is to highlight some technical aspects of the classical tradition in architecture that have so far received only sporadic attention. It is well known that quantification has always been an essential component of classical design: proportional systems in particular have been keenly investigated. But the actual technical tools whereby quantitative precision was conceived, represented, transmitted, and implemented in pre-modern architecture remain mostly unexplored. By showing that a dialectical relationship between architectural theory and data-processing technologies was as crucial in the past as it is today, this course hopes to promote a more historically aware understanding of the current computer-induced transformations in architectural design.

he current study is an attempt to identify the effectiveness of using Blackboard Collaborate Tools, such as wiki, panel discussions and virtual classrooms, in promoting the practical skills among the female students of the Foundation Year in the E-Learning Course. The study sample consisted of (50) female students enrolled in the Foundation Year of College of Education at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Saudi Arabia, for the academic year (2016/2017). The results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) between the mean scores of the participants in the pre-and-post measurement for the practical skills within the Blackboard of E-Collaborative Learning in favor of the post measurement; according to Black equation, the effectiveness rate achieved by more than (1.2).

The Effect of Initial Stresses and Piezoelectric Constants on the
Rating

The aim of this paper is to illustrate the effect of initial stresses on the propagation of plane waves in a general anisotropic elastic medium. Therefore, we present an analytical treatment supported by extensive numerical illustrations of the bulk acoustic wave propagation in Aluminium Nitride (AlN) as piezoelectric hexagonal elastic material. The characteristic equation which is Christoffel's equation is solved. The velocities of wave propagation in this material under the influence of initial stresses are calculated and compared without that influence and the results are presented graphically. This study is useful in signal processing, sound system and wireless communication in addition to improvement of SAW wave devices and military defence equipment.
